Edge...man....what a great wrestler! One of the best of all time and my favorite! The inspiration for my Jake Adams character and the only reason why I want to be a wwe wrestler in the future!
I don't know what to say but to sum it up, here is how I came to like Edge until he eventually, became my favorite wwe wrestler.
2007- I started watched wrestling regularly, not missing anything every week. Kids at my school loved cena and batista at that time because they were so gangsta and popular. Well, I was a trend follower back then so I liked cena and batista as well. Anyone who feuded with them, I hated them with all my heart. So lets cut to the chase and say that back then, I was really scared of Edge and Orton, they were always those type of guys who would team up (RATED -RKO...good times
) and really beat the blood, bone and everything else out of their opponents. Even though I didn't want to believe it, I thought that cena would always be better off if he kept facing guys like HBK or umaga or even khali, so he could stay wwe champ longer.
So then edge, in the summer, beat kennedy like the damn cheater he was to become mr money in the bank. Now this is where I got scared, because I knew edge would definitely beat the shit out of cena and take that title, and never let go of it. But thankfully, he did something that actually made me happy. He cashed in on Undertaker, and damn I hate the undertaker, seriously, I still do, he just never loses and ever since I was a kid, I was scared of him, hence the biggest reason why I fear him, and also respect him. So edge took taker's title, which didn't make me a fan of edge but it sure did make me realize that batista, now has another chance at taking the world heavyweight title back. Ans since I thought edge was weaker than taker, it was gonna be soon when batista was gonna win that title back again.
But dammit! Edge just never lost to batista! He became a serious, serious threat in my eyes and thought that maybe batista should just wait till someone else is champion. And then edge got injured! Awesome! And then batista fought khali and won the title back! I was happy as hell that day! But then edge came back in november, hell in a cell and I immediately knew that batista, was gonna lose that title real soon. I just had that feeling in my gut. And edge took the title just a month later at armageddon. I really started to despise him like I despised the undertaker.
2008- He easily beat 619 throughout the winter and when spring came, it was edge vs undertaker at wrestlemania 24. Now THIS, was interesting. Two guys I hated, and feared, were gonna fight for the world title, and honestly, I wanted edge to win that match since I hated the undertaker ever since I was a kid. But edge lost, and he lost again at backlash, and he couldn't get the title back at judgement day too. But he won at TLC, which was the first time I honestly admired edge, his matches were amazing, he was entertaining no matter what he did. But still, I wanted batista to win that title back! So batista go his chance at night of champions but he lost, which made me hate edge again!
Then he lost the title to cm punk, which in my opinion was awesome as batista was now on raw and had a chance to win the title back!! Cena was no longer even my favorite because well, in the summer 2007, randy orton just grew on me and he was my favorite on raw now. So edge faced triple-h for the wwe title at the great American bash, which wasn't too interesting to me but during the match, he speared vickie and to me, that was the spark that started my liking for edge. He faced taker hell in a cell at summerslam that year!! I remember, the anticipation, the excitement, the drama, the psycho side of edge! It was so thrilling! It indeed was a blockbuster main event match-up and I was rooting for edge all along!
All that momentum was lost when edge was buried by taker and well, that 3 month haitus from edge that year, it honestly made me even more hyper to see edge get back and kick some ass! and hopefully turn face and kick vickie's ass! So during the time-off, I watched smackdown, and even with jeff hardy rising to the top, smackdown was pretty boring to me. I missed edge. Big show/taker feud was lame. Trips as champ was lame, kozlov as boring. So all those three months, I watched every match and moment, every promo and interview, of edge, from the past, which really made me a big fan of his. And then came survivor series, now this was a big ppv and there were so many people saying that this was the night edge returned. I was psyched! And then, he did come back!!! I remember watching him come back live on ppv! He won the title and saved the disaster that was trips vs kozlov for the wwe title. This was like a dream come true for me!
Ever since then....edge has been my favorite superstar along with orton. So to all you guys, feel free to write how you came about to like edge and became his fan! But all I wanna say to end this off is that edge, rated r superstar, you will always be, my inspiration!
